Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Turdy Character on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have discovered numerous entertaining creations from small studios. However, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game features a hero that is actually a piece of poop striving to navigate to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

Player controls is simple: you only need a one button to leap. Across one hundred fifty stages, encounter boss fights and unlock a shop to acquire skins for your fecal avatar.

Plan your jumps carefully, as a wrong move means restarting the level. Jump off air pockets to launch the poop to new heights, navigate disappearing ledges, and activate switches to unlock new areas. Earn currency to purchase tougher stages where the action intensifies.

Visually, the experience shows off vibrant stages and a killer background music. The simple graphics with moving basic polygons evokes memories of fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to name previous releases where you control a coiled turd, interactive entertainment have long included toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from character droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as soil enrichment. And of course, this theme is present heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive recognition, like being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is available at present on Steam, with the final release scheduled to launch on Steam this November.
