Two individuals were killed when the attacker, thirty-five, executed a combined vehicle and knife attack at the Heaton Park synagogue on October 2. North West Counter Terrorism Police reported the 30-year-old suspect was first detained on suspected planning, preparing, and instigating of acts of terrorism. Authorities indicated he was re-arrested at the city airport on suspected failing to disclose information contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000. He has since been released on bail with specific conditions. Police added they "do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public following the incident the previous week."
