Another Four Detentions Made in Link to Louvre Precious Gems Robbery

Four additional persons have been detained within the framework of the continuing probe into the recent heist of precious gems at the Louvre Museum, as stated by the Paris prosecutor's office.

Particulars of the Latest Detentions

Two men, aged 38 and 39, and two female individuals, aged 31 and 40, faced apprehension earlier this week. They all reside in the Paris region.

The robbers remained within for a mere four minutes and fled the scene on a pair of scooters stationed outside at 09:38, before switching to cars.

One of the stolen items - a crown - was dropped during the escape but eight other items of precious ornaments - such as a necklace with emeralds and diamonds that Emperor Napoleon presented to his second spouse, Empress Marie-Louise - were taken.

Protective Shortcomings and Consequences

Authorities have indicated that the theft was performed by minor lawbreakers as opposed to sophisticated criminal organizations.

In the immediate aftermath of the heist, it was revealed by the Louvre's director that the sole surveillance camera watching the Apollo Gallery was directed away from the balcony the thieves climbed over to commit the burglary.

The museum's president has subsequently acknowledged that the museum had failed in its obligations, but rejected claims that security was neglected - emphasizing that from the beginning of her tenure in two thousand twenty-one she had been warning constantly of the need for more investment.

In the wake of the robbery, protective protocols have been tightened around the nation's cultural landmarks.

The museum has moved numerous highly prized jewelry items to the national bank after the theft.
